Improv Jam + Hangout 1.26.24

Since launching our Improv Jam + Hangout monthly series, we’ve been iterating on the format to see what works best for the RST community, because even the most tried-and-true approaches can benefit from a fresh eye (and because agile facilitation is a beautiful thing).

So far we’ve tried out various long-form and short-form scene-based games, musical improv, some rhyming and rapping, line games, and conducted games.

This Friday’s Improv Jam + Hangout was run by Rozzie Square Theater and ComedySportz performer and coach Kristen Aldrich. We welcomed a mix of past students, current students, familiar faces, and brand-new ones 🤩

Introduction and check-in: Get to know who we’re working with tonight - what’s your name and how’re you showing up to the space today?

Warm-ups: Zip Zap Zop, 5 Things, Mirror Compliment - a mix of large group and small groups to make sure everyone is getting reps in

Formats and scene-based games: 4 Square, Scoop It!

There’s always generous time after to Hangout and meet folks you just performed with, and that wraps up this month’s jam. Join us again - our next Improv Jam + Hangout is March 1st and you can sign up here.
