The Rozzie Square Theater Names Nora Panahi New Host; Establishes Queer Comedy Night as Core Theater Offering

BOSTON, MA - The Rozzie Square Theater, a leading and established comedy venue making improv accessible to Boston and Greater Boston areas, today named Iranian-American stand-up comic Nora Panahi as the official host for Roslindale Queer Comedy Night. This appointment coincides with the theater’s move to cement Roslindale Queer Comedy Night as part of the theater’s regular monthly programming mix, as a monthly Friday night event.

Queer Comedy Night joins the theater’s core offerings alongside ComedySportz, Riot Improv, RiotX, and The Boston Magic Lab.

“Nora brings the skill, stage presence, and enthusiasm you dream of in a live entertainment host. Her passion for creating fun and celebratory spaces while building community is so well-aligned with our theater’s mission. I’m looking forward to seeing this show continue to take shape under this collaboration and her guidance.” - Courtney Pong, Owner & Founder, The Rozzie Square Theater

“I am honored beyond belief to be stepping in as the host of Queer Comedy Night! The Rozzie Square Theater consistently prioritizes putting marginalized voices on stage - especially queer folks and people of color - which is still so desperately needed in our art form. As we see anti-LGBTQIA+ bills continue to crop up across the country, particularly those that target trans folks and drag performers, any space that celebrates queer joy and art must be uplifted. The Rozzie Square Theater has been one of those spaces for several years now, and that's not going to change anytime soon,” said Panahi

Queer Comedy Night runs on the 3rd or 4th Friday of every month @ 7:30p. For the schedule and tickets, visit https://www.rozziesquaretheater.com/queer-comedy-night
