This was my first time taking an improv class and I appreciated the format of the class and the intentional activities that helped manage thru anxiety. We developed a positive support system - not only with our instructor but with one another!

It’s a class I’d def recommend. Sarah was a great guide and I really enjoyed classes under her leadership!

Improv For Anxiety

In this 5-week course, you'll play, laugh, and learn new creative strategies and communication skills in a nurturing environment with others who identify with experiencing anxiety in their lives.

Improv comedy is a collaborative art form that celebrates mistakes! Each week we'll play improv games and engage in exercises that de-emphasize fears of imperfection and rejection by celebrating and finding joy in the attempt.

If you are curious about the class but would like to talk to the instructor before signing up, let's connect! You can email sarah@sarahfilman.com to set up some time to chat.

What students are saying

Improv for Anxiety exceeded all my expectations. Sarah created a wonderful supportive experience and the other participants were a delight! She was incredibly organized, warm and focused making sure everyone felt comfortable. I feel more confident and will continue to explore improv as a tool to manage anxiety and live joyfully and of course imperfectly.

Sarah is a tremendous teacher and listener. She encouraged us to feel comfortable discussing our discomfort, and in doing so fostered a truly special and open space. I’ve taken a lot of improv classes, and I’ve never looked forward to a class more than I did Improv for Anxiety. I knew each week that I would leave class feeling refreshed and seen, and I came away with actionable skills that I apply every day”

Sarah was incredibly welcoming and the class was so fun and joyful. I had not felt able to jump into a regular improv class, but she created such a safe environment that I now feel that I can move on to other improv classes. It’s clear that a lot of thought and intentionality went into designing this class.
