Improv Habits & Skills

The Top 5 Habits & Skills of Improvisers

Nothing beats the sound of laughter. It brings communities together, creates and grows friendships, and provides much-needed space for self-expression and play.

And!

We recognize that while not everyone wants to become a professional improviser (if they do, that's great!), anyone can benefit from the habits & skills that improv teaches.

It is our hope that the lessons the students learn in The Rozzie Square Theater workshops will support any endeavor they pursue moving forward, from learning and practicing resiliency and change management to public speaking and communication.

No matter what students do after they complete improv workshops at our theater,  we hope they take a few things with them:

  • The ability to find inspiration and gratitude in every situation. Never underestimate its power.

  • The habit of approaching uncertainty by taking one simple, confident step.

  • The skill of meeting others where they’re at, and recognizing that everyone on a team brings unique value

  • The desire to try new things with an open mind.

  • The wisdom to recognize that diversity is strength.

  • The willingness to support a team or individual teammate

  • The understanding of the power of teamwork.

  • The vision to set goals and see them through.
