The RST Relocation and Rebuild
March 2026 - Fall 2027
Our Relocation Story
In March 2026, after 8 years of residency at 5 Basile St (commonly referred to as 4198 Washington St.)., The Rozzie Square Theater said a temporary goodbye to our beloved Roslindale Square location and relocated to a new venue located at 18 Corinth Street, also right in Roslindale Square.
This ~18-month relocation at 18b Corinth Street will be where we operate out of while 5 Basile st. is rebuilt into our forever home: A mixed-use 5-story building for Roslindale Square that transforms The RST from a single-room theater into a multi-stage, classroom-based performing arts venue, coming in at 4700+ square feet to play in.
This move and build toward the future could not have been done alone. We’ve received generous support from our community and beyond in many forms, including crowdfund campaign donations, volunteers for moving, design, tech assistance, and donations of expertise and skills.

Since opening our doors in 2018, we’ve become a home to many: audiences, performers, teachers, and students. A local place for laughter, encouraging creative risk-taking and much-needed connection.
We’ve spent the past 8 years being rooted in care for our neighborhood and it’s self-evident that The RST now reflects that - a place where neighbors and friends make memories and find support and camaraderie, both on and off stage.
This relocation and rebuild is about building our next chapter together and continuing to ensure that the space we’re in reflects our values, supports artists, welcomes newcomers, and continues to be a place where fun and kind people make funny, meaningful things.
Thank you for helping us make our new home and the one after that the best they can be.

While this is the hardest thing our theater has gone through to date, we also know that we will meet this moment. We’ll be working with:
Local theater tech professionals, for a new AV set-up that sets everyone up for successful performances
Local vendors for construction and supplies, to keep the money circulating in the neighborhood
Roslindale business owners & community leaders for continued collaboration and commercial district health
Theater professionals from across the U.S. to pull best practices and learning lessons from moves similar to ours
Local elected officials and City of Boston-provided resources and assistance
